How do we collect information about you?

We will collect information from you in two ways through forms where you will have to actively save/submit your information (e.g. member registration forms, discussion forum registration forms, feedback and contact forms) and through ‘cookies’. Some areas of the website store ‘cookies’ in your browser to remember your security settings (e.g. to continue to give you access to the Extranet and other areas where you have logged into during your ‘user session’) and to remember your personalisation settings (e.g. your selected font size).
The cookies used to control your access to passworded areas are temporary and will automatically be deleted from your browser once they expire (a user session typically lasts no longer than a day, and can expire after just 5 minutes). However, those used to store your personalisation settings remain on your computer to save you from having to re-set viewing options on subsequent visits to the website.
We will endeavour to make minimal use of cookies, and will never use them to track usage on any website other than WOG.
If you wish, you can adjust your browser settings to a) ask/notify you each time before downloading a cookie b) disable cookies altogether. However, disabling cookies may mean some areas of the website will not work properly.
